Lake Vases

For the creation of these vases, the profiles of lakes in the Brandenburg region were taken as a starting point. In recent years, these landscapes have undergone a visible decline in water levels due to reduced rainfall and rising temperatures.

The gradient pigmentation reflects this transformation—each transition marking a shift, a slow retreat of water over time. Color becomes a trace of absence, a visual register of environmental change.

This project was commissioned by designer Sofia Souidi, with whom it was a genuine pleasure to collaborate. After selecting the appropriate pigments, the material is carefully loaded into the tank to achieve the desired gradient.
